Incredible Love

Tuesday, October 4th, 2005

That’s the title of Chris Brokaw’s forthcoming album, to be released on 12XU (Matador Records honcho Gerard Cosloy’s late-of-the-UK-now-Austin-based label) on October 25. Incredible Love features 11 songs — 10 vocal and 1 instrumental — and was recorded and mixed by Paul Kolderie at Camp Street in Cambridge. Special guests on the album include Noah Chasin, Kevin Coultas, Dave Curry, Jeff Goddard, Matt Kadane and Jonah Sacks.

Fuzzy Buffalo

Tuesday, October 4th, 2005

Actually that would be Hilken Mancini, formerly of Fuzzy, and Chris Colbourn of Buffalo Tom. And guess what? They bill themselves as Hilken Mancini & Chris Colbourn (cuz they can), and their forthcoming CD is titled the same thing, and it’s coming out on Kimchee on November 15. That’s some irresistible pop heading your way. Their band also features Winston Braman (former Fuzzy, present Count Me Outs and Consonant) and Mike Savage (Count Me Outs), plus guitar god J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. guests on the album.

In Chris Colbourn-related news, Buffalo Tom finished recording their first new material since 1997 at Q Division in Boston last month. The album is scheduled for a 2006 release, and on it Mission of Burma’s Clint Conley makes a special guest appearance.
