In yet another East Coast to West Coast Kimchee migration (in the manner of Paula Kelley, Willard Grant Conspiracy, and Blake Hazard), Aubrey Anderson, the man behind Skating Club, is moving to San Francisco (home base for Nedelle as well) in mid-July. You’ll have an opportunity to wish him well on July June 19th at Great Scott in Allston, where Skating Club plays their “See ya later, Boston!” set along with Hamlet Idiot and The Sanguine for the latter band’s CD release show. We shall miss thee, Aubrey!

Skating Club Moves Cross-Country
Wednesday, June 15th, 2005Hamlet Idiot?
Monday, June 13th, 2005Hamlet Idiot formed in Byfield, MA in 1992 and featured Dylan Metrano, later of Kimchee band Tiger Saw, and Gregory Moss, also the founder of Independent Submarine, an alternative theater company in Boston. They released a dozen cassettes, two CDs (recorded in Chicago with Steve Albini and in New York at the Funhouse with members of Boss Hog and the Chrome Cranks), and several 7” singles. The band was known for its intense, sometimes confrontational live show, as well as its experimental leanings and twin guitar interplay. Hamlet Idiot played its last show in 1998. The band has reformed this month for a week’s worth of New England shows. Check out the dates on our Tour Page and tune in at 88.1 fm on Tuesday night, June 21st, at around 9:00 to hear them make a racket on WMBR’s Pipeline! show.
