Spank Fanzine |
Helms start off this split with a mix of ethereal minimalism and timely movements of raw guitar and emotion. The songs build and change to maintain interest in their shifting structures. There is a strange and brutal honesty to the Helms' songs. Victory at Sea manage a great sense of tension on their two songs, keeping the listener poised for a release that happens in unexpected ways. Reminiscent of the dark and twisted blues of Come, they are what kept me coming back to this split. Matt >>> spankzine.com |
