Chris Brokaw has just joined forces on electric guitar with Two Dollar Guitar, a long-standing act featuring Tim Fohljan (formerly Cat Power) and Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth), and after a series of New York appearances this month, will tour part of the US and Europe with them in November and December. Chris will open every show with a solo set.
Chris will be accompanying Bob Mould at Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center, NYC on November 9 for a sold-out benefit show of the music of Bob Dylan. Also on the bill: Patti Smith, The Roots, Cat Power, Roseanne Cash, Seal, Jill Sobule, Allen Toussaint, Chris and Rich Robinson, Ryan Adams, Phil Lesh, Al Kooper, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Lee Renaldo and many more.
Here’s a 4 minute video of Mr. Brokaw and the Steve Wynn Band accompanying crime writer George Pelecanos at an August 8th reading at the Magnetic Field Cocktail Lounge in Brooklyn.
